A C₀ finite element is formulated for the analysis of laminated anisotropic composite plates, based on Mindlin plate bending theory with shear correction. A quadratic Serendipity element based on this formulation is added to the ADINA finite element program and its numeric results are compared with other elements and closed form solutions for laminated composite plates.
