Retraction Notice

The following article in Old Testament Essays 29 (1) 2016, pp. 11-32 by Dr Yaw Adu-Gyamfi is hereby retracted because of the improper use of material:

'Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live' (Exod 22:18) and Contemporary Akan Christian Belief and Practice: A Translational and Hermeneutical Problem.

The following two articles that have been published on academia.edu by Rev. Paul Cookey are involved:

"The Translation of mskaššēâ in Exodus 22:17." A Conference Paper Presented at the University of the Free State, Bloemfontein, Republic of South Africa, during the Opening of their New Hebrew Department from 27 - 29 January, 2014.

"The Contextual Meaning of mdkaššē'witch' in Exodus 22:17."

I regret to have been unable to detect the use of these articles without proper recognition and verbatim copying in this specific article beforehand. The journal apologises for this to have happened.
