ERRATUM

Erratum: A prospective observational study of preoperative natriuretic peptide testing in adult non-cardiac surgical patients in hospitals in Western Cape Province, South Africa

In the article Ά prospective observational study of preoperative natriuretic peptide testing in adult non-cardiac surgical patients in hospitals in Western Cape Province, South Mrica' by Aphonsus et al., which appeared on pp. 338 - 342 of the Άpril 2021 issue of SAMJ, seven patients had been misclassified as having congestive cardiac failure (CCF) instead of stroke. In the multivariable regression analysis, this did not significantly affect the predictive value of stroke and CCF, but did affect diabetes. In the revised analysis, diabetes is not a predictor of raised N-terminal-prohormone B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP), and the text has been adjusted accordingly throughout. There have also been changes in Tables 1, 3 and 4.

The online version of the article (https://doi.org/10.7196/SAMJ.2021.v111i4.15226) was corrected on 8 Άpril 2022.
