Abstract

MILLS, M.; LIN, C.; CHAUHAN, M.  and  KLUMP, H.H.. Circular dichroism as a means to follow DNA gymnastics: on the shoulders of giants. S. Afr. j. sci. [online]. 2009, vol.105, n.7-8, pp.309-311. ISSN 1996-7489.

This is the first report of DNA stem-loops self-assembled by 'foot-loop' interactions into either two-dimensional strings or three-dimensional spirals, distinguished by circular dichroism spectroscopy. All subunits are linked by cooperative Watson-Crick hydrogen bonds.

Keywords : DNA; circular dichroism; nanostructures; stem-loop structures; self-assembly.
