    Resumen

SWART, Alta E.  y  COETZEE, Carel F.C.. The view of Scripture according to feminist theologians, in particular that of Fiorenza, Brenner and Van Dijk-Hemmes - evaluated in the light of the reformed theology. In Skriflig (Online) [online]. 2013, vol.47, n.1, pp.1-9. ISSN 2305-0853.

It appears that the feminist view of Scripture is based on the principle of selective authority of the Scriptures, which means that only the parts of the Bible corresponding with the feminist ideology are accepted as authoritative. The use of androcentric language, in particular, makes it difficult for followers of feminism to accept the whole Bible as authoritative. Hermeneutically, their approach resembles Postmodernism, interpreting without any rules. Viewed from the paradigm of the reformed theology, which is anchored in Scripture and the articles of faith, feminist theology shows serious shortfalls. The contributions of three prominent feminist theologians - Fiorenza, Brenner and Van Dijk-Hemmes - are studied closely and evaluated critically in the light of the reformed theology, to underline these shortfalls.
