ABOUT THE JOURNAL

 

Basic Information

The Law, Democracy and Development (LDD) journal was started in 1997 by the Faculty of Law at the University of the Western Cape with the aim of creating a forum in which key aspects of the processes of democracy, good governance, human rights and socio–economic development can be debated by scholars, practitioners as well as those concerned with policy–making across the continent, thus contributing to the development of shared knowledge and cooperative effort.

LDD’s areas of interest are Law, Democracy and Human Rights. The journal focuses on the topics of Law, Democracy, Human Rights, Economic Development, Politics and Government, Democratization as well as Africa.

The journal publishes 1 volume per year. In 2021 a special issue was published. Articles are published online when they are ready for publication. i.e. continuous publication.

Abstracts are written in English (and French, where applicable). All keywords are in English.

The abbreviated key title is Law democr. Dev..
