INSTRUCTIONS TO AUTHORS

Scope and Policy

Acta Academica is dedicated to scholarship in the humanities. The journal publishes articles of an academic nature that examine society, culture and politics past and present from a critical social theory perspective. The journal promotes scholarly work that examines how the humanities in the 21st century respond to the double imperative of theorising the world and changing it. We seek to contribute especially to the fields of postcolonial, development, cultural, African and gender studies that link to current themes and processes on the continent and especially to Southern Africa, without abandoning the global context and the shared perspectives of committed scholarship elsewhere.
